Before The Back Abbey came to exist at its original location, our building was just four walls. Four busted up walls. No ceiling. No windows. Since then, it has been transformed into something special. What started with a passion for flavors and quality of Belgian Beers, has turned into to a culinary, beer, and cocktail destination.
The Back Abbey opened in June 2008.
Much like our menu, our goal here is to create a unique spin on the expected – to reflect our passion for great food, Belgian beers, and craft cocktails, and a place to share all of this with great friends. The Back Abbey is more than the terms restaurant, bar or gastropub can express. The Back Abbey is our place and yours – a place to discover and experience the coming together of taste, culture and personality.
Over the past two years, we have transformed The Back Abbey’s outdoor space to include a retractable awning and expanded seating, allowing you to enjoy our outdoor space year-round. In 2020 we also added a full liquor license allowing us to expand into the area of craft cocktails. And in 2022 we will be opening our second location at The Colonies Crossroads in Upland, California, with hopefully more locations to follow. If you haven’t visited us in a while, you should!
